How did you discover streetlifting?
It was about a year and a half ago. My ex used to do Street Workout and that sparked my interest – I thought, why not give it a try? I started with pull-ups and dips at bodyweight, because for a woman, you have to know that it’s harder, and then I discovered Luc and started coaching with him in streetlifting.
Why did you decide to compete at FNSL Nord-Est?
Simply because the competition was held at my gym, ha! I thought – what better way to represent my gym than by competing at FNSL Nord-Est?
Were the muscle ups easy or mission impossible?
Honestly, easy. But since I had a lot of nerves, I had to channel all of that. In the end it went really well. They were flying, so I’m super happy.
Did you hit your weighted pull-up attempts, or did you leave disappointed?
For weighted pull-ups, the goal was to hit 20 kg again. I got it on the 2nd attempt, then on the 3rd we decided to go for a PR – it didn’t go through, but that will happen next time.
And on the weighted dips?
The dips – as I said, I’m a little disappointed about the 3rd attempt, but knowing that I had a shoulder injury, I told myself in any case we validate the 2nd attempt and then we reassess. It didn’t go through, but it will soon.
With all that accumulated fatigue, how did you feel on the squats?
Honestly, surprised – I thought I was going to be more wiped out than that. I still managed to grind through the squat and I think I even had a little margin, so no, very surprised and very happy.
If you had to sum up your competition in one word?
Gratitude, I think.
