Two major players in French street lifting are becoming one: 4LIFT is joining the FNSL (Fédération Nouvelle de Street Lifting). A merger driven by a simple, unifying goal: bringing the whole discipline together to grow the sport and deliver the best possible experience for athletes and spectators alike.
To fully grasp what this announcement means, it helps to remember where we're coming from. In recent years, French street lifting has grown around several separate organisations, each running its own competitions: 4LIFT, the ACE Squad and the FNSL.
4LIFT, based in the Annecy area, had established itself as a genuine grassroots organiser. The collective launched the Spring Meet / Annecy Street Event (at Power Studio Annecy), followed by its own signature event, Annecy 4LIFT, season after season, in the Streetliftings calendar.
In the same spirit, and entirely on its own side, the ACE Squad also put on street lifting competitions. The team built its own nationwide circuit, the ACE Cup Series, which made stops in cities across France, Bordeaux, Rennes, Reims, Lyon…, and even hosted qualifiers for the Worlds and then the European Championship. An independent effort, but one that speaks to the same dynamic: enthusiasts keeping the discipline alive by staging competitions themselves.
As for the FNSL, it structured the elite level, notably with the CNSL / French Championship and, more recently, the FNSL Elite (Sevran), which brought together 56 athletes across 10 categories as a qualifying event.
The federation also keeps the discipline alive at every level. It runs regional competitions that act as qualifiers for the Championnats de France Nouvelle Génération (the New Generation French Championships), along with formats designed to open the sport up to as many people as possible: the Premier Pas meets, reserved for those who have never competed in street lifting, and the Only events, where athletes go head to head on a single lift.
A shared ambition: bringing everyone together
It's precisely these two dynamics that the merger now unites. Rather than running two calendars and two logics in parallel, 4LIFT and the FNSL are choosing to move forward together, within a single framework. The idea isn't to divide, but to unite: to finally speak with one voice and keep bringing people together around the same sport.
In practical terms, the union should eventually deliver a clearer calendar, harmonised rules and categories, and a shared national ranking serving as a single reference for every athlete.

The intentions will quickly become reality. 4LIFT's next competition, scheduled for November 2026, will be held in partnership with the FNSL: it will be the first concrete milestone of this union, a chance to validate the shared organisational format on the ground and to bring together, under this new banner, athletes from both worlds.
Far more than just a competition, this event marks a new era for French street lifting, opening the door to new horizons.
Growing the sport, together
Beyond the administrative side, this merger sends a strong signal to the whole community: that of a more united French street lifting scene, combining 4LIFT's organisational energy with the FNSL's structure to raise the level, better run competitions, and offer the best experience to athletes and spectators alike. The November competition will give the first glimpse of it.
