Why it matters

Good gear isn’t about comfort. It’s about performance.

In streetlifting, every kilo counts. A belt that slips, a wrist that gives out, a bar that slides… and the lift is gone, or worse, you get injured. Here’s why gearing up properly is part of the training.

Joint safety

Elbow sleeves, wrists, knee sleeves: the added load amplifies the stress on your joints. The right gear absorbs what your body can’t handle on its own.

Pure performance

A stable dip belt, chalk that grips, shoes that transmit drive: each piece gives you 2 to 5% more performance. Stack them up, and that’s extra kilos on the bar.

Durability & reliability

High-end gear lasts 5 to 10 years. Cheap gear breaks at the worst possible moment, often with weight hanging off it. The math is simple: pay once, keep it for life.

Frequently asked questions

Everything people ask us about gear.

Where do you start when you’re new to streetlifting?+
If you’re starting to add weight, the dip belt is the #1 investment. You’ll use it for pull-ups, dips and muscle ups. Then add basic wrist wraps and chalk. There’s no point buying competition gear until you’ve solidified your technical foundation.
Dip belt with chain or with rope: which should you choose?+
Our clear recommendation: rope, on every front. It sits the plates lower, around your feet, which protects your core bracing and stabilizes your posture on pull-ups, dips and muscle ups. It’s silent, doesn’t scratch the plates, adjusts quickly and handles heavy loads very well if the rope is high quality (numbered Daisy rope on the MPDS and Gornation competition belts). The chain is still a decent option, but it swings, bangs against the plates and throws the movement off balance. Both are allowed in competition for the muscle up, pull-up and dips under FNSL rules.
What exactly does the SL10 promo code work on?+
The SL10 code gives you -10% at both of our official partners: MPDS (elbow sleeves, wrist wraps, knee sleeves, lifting belts, dip belts, technical apparel) and Gornation (belts, complete packs, premium accessories). It stacks with the packs on promotion. Just apply it at checkout.
What thickness for knee sleeves and the lifting belt?+
Under the FNSL rules revised in 2024: the lifting/weightlifting belt is allowed on the squat only, with a 13 mm max thickness. Knee sleeves are allowed on the squat only as well, with 7 mm max. For free training, you can go thicker, but get into the habit of training with your competition gear.
Is liquid chalk really essential?+
Yes, especially as soon as you start loading up the bar. Liquid chalk soaks up sweat, lasts longer than regular chalk, leaves the bar cleaner and stays effective throughout the whole session. It’s approved in competition under FNSL rules and recommended for 1RM attempts, heavy pull-ups, muscle ups and anything that demands flawless grip.
Do I need rings or a bar at home?+
If you don’t have a street workout park or a gym nearby, yes. A wall-mounted or fixed pull-up bar (min. 200 kg capacity when you add weight) already covers pull-ups and muscle ups. Gymnastic rings add the option of unstable dips and advanced exercises. Our detailed guides help you choose based on your space.
How long does good streetlifting gear last?+
A quality belt (MPDS, Gornation) can last 5 to 10 years with regular care. Elbow sleeves and wrist wraps: 2 to 4 years depending on intensity. Rings and fixed bars: for life if the installation is solid. The upfront investment pays for itself quickly, and is far safer than cheap gear that can give out with 40 kg hanging off it.
