How did you discover streetlifting?

Well, I actually started out like pretty much everyone – with street workout. So with my best friend, we used to go to La Bastille in Grenoble where there are these outdoor workout spots, and there were 2 pull-up bars. We started out doing 2 pull-ups using our knees to assist. Then we kept going, kept pushing, discovered streetlifting, and from there we just tried to push it as far as possible!

Why did you decide to compete at FNSL Sud-Est?

First of all, it’s a good way to push your limits. With all the discipline and determination you put in, it’s great to be able to compete against other people, see how you measure up, and it motivates you even more.

The weighted muscle ups – were they easy or mission impossible?

Weighted muscle ups? Ah, that was tough for sure because I made too big of a jump in weight – I didn’t quite manage it at first, but we were there, we handled it.

Did you hit your target weights on the weighted pull-ups, or did you leave wanting more?

I’m left wanting more because I hit -1.25 kg compared to what I had done last time. But we’ll get back to the grind and go for a lot more.

And on the weighted dips?

Yeah, I smashed my numbers and there was plenty of room to spare. That’s exactly why we’re going to go after much, much more now.

And with all that accumulated fatigue, how did you feel on the squats?

I felt great. It was the final event. I had all my friends with me, plus my coach French Forge, pushing me to go for it. So we got fired up and absolutely crushed it.

And if you had to sum up your competition in one word?

Honestly, incredible. First because the competition was genuinely awesome. I managed to do, in a way, everything I wanted to, because I had incredible people around me. And really, it was – it was something phenomenal!
